ESG Investment Guidelines

At Lombard International Assurance (“the Company"), we are committed to incorporating ESG factors into our strategy and operations in order to contribute towards implementing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Lombard International Assurance, as legal owner of the underlying assets of life insurance policies issued by the Company, has amended its ESG Investment Guidelines and related Investment Exclusion List, as of April 2023.

Appointed investment managers of Internal Collective Funds must not invest in any investment funds and financial instruments contained in this list. The Investment Exclusion List contains issuers violating the UN Global Compact Principles or having controversial weapon involvement. Additionally, the list contains investment funds investing more than 10% in issuers with controversial weapon involvement.

The Investment Exclusion List is regularly and independently updated, analysing data provided by Morningstar and Sustainalytics, both leading providers of independent investment research and ESG data.

Lombard International Assurance also ensures that fund lists which are made available to policyholders for selection of external funds do not contain any investment fund contained in the Investment Exclusion List.
