At Lombard International Group, Corporate Citizenship is our approach to ensuring we have a positive impact in the communities in which we work and operate across the globe. We care about making a meaningful difference today, to safeguard a sustainable future for our colleagues, our clients, our partners, the environment and society of tomorrow. We are guided by our values and motivated by the footprint that we leave behind.
Our donations, charitable partnerships and volunteering initiatives across Europe and in the US are aimed to continue to drive positive environmental impact, social awareness and community prosperity. Our people are at the heart of our endeavours that help to make a real difference. They proactively give back and get involved in their local communities by organising company-wide fundraising campaigns, participating in charitable events and donating their time, money and skills to causes close to their hearts.
Here is a snapshot of our Citizenship programming around the world:
Médecins Sans Frontières’ COVID-19 Crisis Fund
A year full of unprecedented change and challenges, 2020 saw the world come together, in global solidarity, to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequential impacts to vulnerable populations and communities around the world. Lombard International Group proudly donated financial aid to Médecins Sans Frontières’ (MSF) COVID-19 Crisis Fund, supported by a colleague fundraising campaign.
The funds donated and raised directly supported MSF in equipping staff to implement prevention and medical support programmes in vulnerable communities around the world, especially to those who were struggling to meet the rising healthcare needs of the population and to fragile or war-torn areas that do not have the social safety net or access to running water and space to self-isolate..
Passion Partnership with Charity Miles
In 2020 we launched our new and exciting Group-wide partnership with the innovative philanthropic app, Charity Miles. Lombard International Group sponsored colleagues around the world to raise money for the charitable projects that they are passionate about by walking, running or cycling.
This partnership reinforces our commitment to our colleagues wellbeing and happiness, so they can bring the best version of themselves to work, every day. It also brings together and connects all of our colleagues around the world in a united mission, to get moving and make a difference.
Sunshine People’s 2020 Kindness Challenge
We are proud of our partnership with Sunshine People and Nahla Summers, Cultural Change Consultant and the author of A Culture of Kindness, who are on a mission to help drive positive social change and increased human connection through the power of kindness.
We were honoured to be a part of Nahla’s kindness journey as she embarked on and successfully completed the Sunshine People’s 2020 Kindness Challenge. This project saw Nahla break a World Record, completing nearly 5,000 miles on an ElliptiGO bike and spelling out the word KINDNESS across England, all whilst carrying out random acts of kindness along the way.
Community Partnership School | Philadelphia, US
Vital to the positive evolution of our society, to build a better, kinder and more sustainable economy and social environment for the future, we are proud to support the education and engagement of Philadelphia’s youth in need via our longstanding charitable partnership with the Community Partnership School (CPS), in North Central Philadelphia. An innovative, independent elementary school, CPS is dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality education to children from low-income backgrounds.
Over the last 5 years, our US-based colleagues have committed an outstanding 200+ volunteering hours, $250,000 in sponsorships and donations, donated 100+ books and school supplies, and organised 27 events to raise funds for CPS. In 2020, we continued to support CPS via a Group-wide initiative to fund and send school supplies to equip and prepare the youth for both in-classroom and at-home learning and a series of fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
