Stuart Parkinson
Group Chief Executive Officer
Stuart Parkinson was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors on 1 April 2020.
Stuart has over 27 years of international experience in banking and financial services having worked across Asia, Europe, Latin America and the US. He has significant experience in managing diverse teams and businesses, and bringing resources together across multiple geographies to enhance propositions to best serve partners and clients.
Most recently he was Global Chief Investment Officer of HSBC Private Banking, where he had global responsibility for products and investments, leading an international team of 800+ investment strategists, investment counsellors, product specialists and wealth advisers.
Previous roles at HSBC include: CEO Global Research, based in London; Deputy Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Mexico, based in Mexico City; Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer, Global Banking and Markets, Americas based in New York; Director of European Telecoms, Global Banking based in London; and Senior Vice President, Global Banking, based in Taipei.
An unwavering champion of diversity and inclusion, Stuart is a strong advocate of nurturing diverse teams as a key value driver in delivering innovation, enhanced collaboration and more successful outcomes across an organisation. A father of two daughters, he is also passionate about helping young people develop the technical skills required to succeed in a rapidly evolving global economy. In his spare time, Stuart enjoys gardening and is an avid sportsman playing golf, running and going to the gym.
Stuart graduated from Loughborough University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Banking and Finance, Corporate Finance and Securities Law.
